Biography
Shalva Kikodze studied in Tbilisi and Paris and worked as a painter, caricaturist, and theatre artist before his early death. His surviving works are vivid, psychologically alert, and closely tied to the Georgian modernist circle of the 1910s.
Because his career ended at twenty-seven, Kikodze's output is small, but his portraits and expressive figure paintings remain key evidence of Georgian modernism's international reach.
