Biography
Petre Otskheli studied in Tbilisi and Moscow, then transformed Georgian theatre design with Constructivist geometry, stylized figures, and dramatic spatial invention. His theatre works were drawings, costumes, and stage environments rather than conventional easel painting.
Executed during the Stalinist purges at age thirty, Otskheli left a compact body of work that is now treated as one of the strongest Georgian contributions to the Soviet avant-garde.
