Biography
Ketevan Magalashvili trained in Tbilisi and became one of Georgia's leading portrait painters. Her work recorded the faces of writers, actors, musicians, and fellow artists while keeping a restrained, psychologically direct style.
Her portraits are especially valuable as a visual archive of twentieth-century Georgian cultural life, including figures who were later silenced by Soviet repression.
